it was so fun to get our families together. we were missing libby and kim and their husbands and kids for this picture...we'll have to get the whole gang together again soon...SO FUN!

breckenridge with lala and papa

this first picture was taken right before lucy fell head first off the bridge into a mountain stream!! brrr... other adventures included frog hunting, feeding rainbow trout, swimming in the indoor/outdoor heated pools, enjoying downtown, picnicing, playing at the park, hiking, exploring, playing games...SO great to be away in the mountains with my folks!!! i took lots of photos - everything was so beautiful.

deceptively delicious

i am becoming a fan of jessica seinfeld's cookbook "deceptively delicious." she has found some great ways to "hide" vegetables in food. so far we have liked the chocolate chip cookies made with an entire can of chick peas. the carrot pancakes were delicious (scott had three stacks!). the personal pizzas with whole wheat crust and a layer of spinach puree were a hit. kate couldn't get enough of the "buttered noodles" made with yellow squash puree. the brownies, made with a considerable amount of carrots and spinach left something to be desired, but they are actually good for you, so defintiely worth trying...i love that she has recipes for foods that kids (and husbands) are actually interested in eating. if you have passed by the cookbook in the bookstore, or better yet, at costco (i found mine at tj maxx for $5) and wondered about getting it, i say, go for it!

queen lucy

today while lucy and our babysitter, laura were making a fort in the back yard, laura asked lucy if she wanted to be the princess of the fort. lucy said, "no, i want to be the queen." oh my...
she has been referring to herself as queen lucy since then...
