this does not do justice to the many minutes of lucy dancing to the gospel music in front of the first-ever starbucks coffee shop on pike place market, but i got a couple seconds of it...

seattle!!!

we are home from a wonderful week of vacation in seattle. it was SO fun to be with family and friends, hit lots of touristy spots, visit the many beautiful and diverse neighborhoods of seattle, eat fun food, cheer on the red sox, share great meals and fun times with people we love, soak up the family-of-3 time, see lucy absorb all the sights and sounds and faces, and to simply be away. we decided it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. here are a few photos from the games, the ferry ride to bainbridge island, the ballbach's porch, the UW boathouse, pike place market, a walk in discovery park...the combination of being with loved ones, being out and about, and having our own family time and down time was such a gift.
p.s. the third photo captures much of lucy's personality...ready to dive into the world and the people around her with a smile on her face. she was so fun to travel with...up for anything.

4th of july fun!

our neighborhood park had lots of festivities...lucy had a few minutes in the bouncy castle before it accidentally deflated on her in a matter of seconds. thankfully scott was with her to help her out! she was unfazed and loved being with all the big kids at the park on such a fun morning! the rest of the day was mellow - we avoided the heat with a visit to the pool and the mall...
