on another note...

we are noticing, for the first time...naughtiness.
i thought it could/would never happen to our perfect little bundle of love, joy, cuteness, etc.
but, oh yes, our little lucy is starting to be a little bit naughty.
a little bit ornery.
thankfully, i just found out that 9 months is the normal time when babies/toddlers start to assert their independence and will in a new way, i just didn't think it would ever happen to lucy!!!

shop-walking

last night we had dinner with the zylstras - love them! kaatje is in the background of this video. as usual, lucy is wearing her hand-me-downs. reuben and rachel rigged up this shopping cart with a dumbell to offer walking resistance for kaatje when she was a baby...very fun to see lucy give it a try. we are so thankful for these guys. we don't always get to have coherent conversations when the three kids are around, but just being together is so fun for us.

uncle jack!

one of the best parts of adulthood has been realizing how much i enjoy, respect, and love the two people i grew up with...to find that i would choose my siblings as friends is a wonderful thing. i wholeheartedly enjoy the people they are. john is here just for a quick visit on his way home from a business trip...such a treat.

this is lucy's first time to meet her aunt heather! we are having a fun weekend just being together. we took advantage of the free family day at the denver art museum and had a long morning at church...we are grateful for this great week of filkin family fun!

scott's folks are here for the week! lucy is loving it! we have had 70 degree weather and then a big snow storm...time at the park and time on the floor...very fun.

lucy was a champ at our caucus tonight - what a cool thing to be able to do. over 500 people in a middle school gym voting for their candidate. made me very thankful to be an american...we rushed home to meet scott's ivcf leadership team - hence the photo with our friend, vivian. we also celebrated "fat tuesday" - lucy loved the beads. and here are a couple photos of lucy's room. the letters are the latest addition - hung over her crib, made with the leftover fabric from lovey's quilt.

rylie fletemeyer was born on friday! she and lucy are about 8 months apart. we can't wait until they can pal around together!

fleece is the fabric of choice these days...it's cold outside and lucy is doing a lot of crawling on the hard floors inside.
